Wow...we have now made it to 29 weeks, just 11 more to go. I told Jeremy on Tuesday night as he was taking my 29th week photo that next week I would be able to start the count down on my fingers!! That is exciting news :)
This pregnancy has gone by so fast, I just can't believe that we will really be having a baby in 11 weeks! The journey of pregnancy is amazing. You have a positive pregnancy test and rejoice together, have an ultrasound and see a precious heartbeat and think, "oh my goodness there is really at baby inside of me!" You change the way you eat, drink and preform the duties of daily life by eating healthier, drinking LOTS of water (or cherry limeaids from Sonic), trying to get a good nights sleep and be very careful with everything you do (don't let the dogs sit on my stomach anymore!) You pray that your 20 weeks ultrasound will be perfect and that your baby is growing up to be healthy and strong, continue to pray thru the rest of your pregnancy that NOTHING will go wrong and that you will make it till 40 weeks when you deliver a healthy and happy baby! Happy and Healthy, there is nothing more that we can ask for...I know that's a lot!!
This week I started having some contractions at work. I was not sure what a contraction felt like, but it is just a weird tightening of your abdomen. It's really hard to explain, but its like your doing a permanent sit up! When it happened I had to ask one of the other girls that I work with to feel my stomach and tell me if it's a contraction. She felt my abdomen and said "Yup, you are having one." It didn't really hurt, just feels really funny. I am sure that walking, or briskly walking since I am preggers and not allowed to run to emergencies according to my co-workers, around the PICU for 12.5 hours a day is not recommended for a pregnant person, but I am a nurse and saving lives is my job!!! I might have to step down from my charge nurse position sooner than later cause at least as a bedside nurse you are able to sit down a little to chart ! Not too sad about retiring from charge! I will just have to see how the upcoming shifts go! I plan on working up until the day the baby is born...possible have my water break at work and call Jeremy and say "OK it's time, I am already here so I will meet you on the labor and delivery floor!!" Wow, wouldn't he be surprised to get that call!
Overall still feeling good. Here in Nashville it has been over 90 degrees for 40 some days and of course there is humidity too! I have only spent 4 days at the pool this summer, which is really sad for me considering the fact that I LOVE the pool, but I feel like it's in the best interest of me and the baby to stay home in the air conditioning. I will work on my tan next year, oh wait as a mom I am not sure how much tanning I will be doing anymore?!?! I go to the doctors next Wednesday for a check up. Probably just some measuring of my abdomen, listening to the heart beat and maybe some pee in a cup. Have a great weekend everyone! I will be spending one day at work and one day with Jeremy's family as his brother Chad is here for a few days.
