8 weeks and counting!

So little Baby Harrison has now made it to 32 weeks, probably weighing in at 4+ lbs (a sack of potatoes) and 19+inches. Next time you are at the grocery store pick up a sack of potatoes and just imagine...that is how much our baby weighs already and that weight is inside my belly....+ a few more pounds for the placenta and + some fluid. Wow...that is adding up!
At the doctors I am still measuring about a week ahead so I am aiming to have the baby on 10/10/10 at 10:10...either AM or PM. There was a baby born a few weeks agoon 08/09/10 at 11:12 and made yahoo's front page...so now I am aiming for all 10's! I was born on 06/06 so I think 10/10 would be a great date. I don't think anyone would forget it either?!?! It's still a totally mystery when the baby will be born. I am sure that it will come whenever it's ready...not when mommy and daddy are ready! Well I still want it to cook for another 6 weeks...we don't need any underdeveloped lungs or nights in the NICU!
Speaking of ready...the room is almost complete! Another coat of paint on the chair rail and crown molding and WE ARE FINISHED! I am ready to move a few things into the room and start to get it a little set up. I want to put a precious phrase over the dresser, just trying to come up with the perfect phrase. Any suggestions? I bought all the stuff today to print the words on my cricut today (it's a fancying scrapbooking machine for those of you who don't know what it is). I am excited to do it, just need the phrase!
Jeremy pulling the tape off the wall from the stripes. THANK GOODNESS for frog tape...it made the stripes SO easy this time...no more painting the bottom color over the tape before you put the top color on to prevent bleeding of the colors. I RECOMMEND!
Painting of the chair rail!As for me I am still feeling pretty good. Sometime I have some severe back pain, but nothing Jeremy can't massage out or the ice pack takes care of. Thanks dad for the AMAZING ice pack...for all those who know my dad, ice fixes EVERYTHING...well and some push-up's, but I don't think I am allowed to do those right now (darn). I am starting to do some nesting by cleaning EVERYTHING in the house to perfection and organizing things over and over. I think I have redone the baby's closet a few times already and I have not even added new things to it.
I have two showers coming up, August 28th, Danielle and Aunt Pat and throwing me a Harrison shower and on Sept 9 (09/09 another reason the double numbers are super) Jennifer, Curry, Maria, Holly and Elizabeth from work are throwing me a shower with all my friends. I am very excited! Then it's just a few more weeks of work...and BABY TIME! I plan for my last day of work to be Oct 11, but I am more than happy to call work and tell them, sorry I am going on maternity leave early...we are having the baby.
The actual thought of having the baby scares me a little right now. I am just not sure of how I am going to know that I am actually in labor (yes, I know it's painful but people think they are in labor all the time are actually aren't). Hopefully my water will break and it will be a for sure sign that we have to go to Vandy! When that happens I will make a phone call to my mom and Whitney to tell them "time to get on a plane!" I have breastfeeding class this week and birthing class in September so maybe those classes will give me a little more reassurance!

you can still do push ups while pregnant; it's just really tricky. and don't hope your water breaks first! the contractions are much more bearable with it than without. or at least as much as I understand from my friends. =) (my water didn't break up to 7cm, and my breech baby didn't flip, so she got pulled out instead of pushed out. so I'm useless for an actual comparison.) yay for baby Harrison nonetheless!!!

Love the room! My friend has a great phrase she put in her babies room, "you are my wish come true". I would have used it but she had it first :)
ReplyDeletelet me know if you need anything. Can't wait for that sweet baby to make it's debut.
