85 days to go. Wow..that number is getting smaller and smaller. A little update on what has been going on?
So I failed my first diabetes test...I was devastated. I just could not believe that I was going to have gestational diabetes. The thought of eating chicken and lettuce until the baby is born did not sounds like much fun to me. But I figured that I could do anything for 13 weeks for the health of me and the baby. On Friday I had to do a fasting test where you can't eat or drink anything for a total of 16 hours...wow that is a long time. So I stopped eating Thursday night at 8pm went to the doctors Friday at 8am, they drew my blood, I drank this extremely sugary sprite drink, waited an hour, drew blood, another waiting hour, drew blood and another waiting hour and more blood. When it was all over I met my BFF Jenn and her sweet little girl Avery for a WONDERFUL lunch at Puffy Muffin! Wow, that might have been some of the best food in a long time. This morning I one of the best phone call ever from the doctors....MRS HARRISON, YOUR TEST FOR DIABETES IS NEGATIVE!!!!!!!! Yeah, I can continue to drink strawberry limeaids from Sonic and eat cereal until the baby is born!! It's the little things in life :)
Other updates...Jeremy and I have officially picked paint colors for the nursery. We choose a light green and tan color. On the bottom we are going to do green and tan stripes of different sizes, a chair rail and then the green on the top. We originally picked out 2 greens and 2 tans, brought sample cans home and tested the colors on the walls. What a difference a large test spot makes on the wall compared to a small paper sample. We though we had choose 2 light greens and wow one was a dark green on the wall, so we went with the light one. The tans were a little harder, but we also went with the lighter one. The darker tan would look great painted in our living room!!
The baby is wild and moves all the time now. Jeremy has felt it numerous times lately. I swear that it likes to take a foot or hand and DIG it into my side already. It still has room to move, not sure why it feels necessary to dig body parts into its mommy already? I love the feeling of it moving...it's just amazing to me to know that our baby is growing up to be so big! The baby now is over 2lbs and 14in long. As Jeremy stated the other day, it's larger than his shoe! I guess a visual image on how big our baby is! It can now open its eyes and is suppose to respond to light. Bunger-Roebuck and I tried it at work the other day by shining a flashlight onto my belly, but the baby did not want to move then. Maybe next time Bunger-Roebuck!
Not much else. Jeremy and I go the doctors tomorrow for a check up and continue to go every 2 weeks. I never thought the time would come when we went to the doctors every 2 weeks, but the time has arrived!!! Tomorrow I will officially be in my third and last trimester!! 12 weeks to go! Yeah!!
