Today Jeremy and I went to the doctors for our 34 weeks appointment and after some discussion with Dr. Lipsitz my due date is probably more like October 6th instead of October 12th, making me 35 weeks instead of 34...ScaRY! Well not that scary, just means that a whole week just F..L..E..W by! I am measuring a week ahead and she went back and reviewed our 20 weeks ultrasound in which the baby was measuring 21 weeks and decided that yes, I probably was a week ahead. Also on a little side note, according to my last cycle I originally thought that I was due October 6th, but my 8 week ultrasound they decided October 12th...so who really knows but I guess that Jeremy and I just need to be prepared for a few days earlier!?!? I am still shooting for 10/10/10...but we will just see. I think Baby Harrison will make its debut whenever it's ready! So I am sure you are all still wondering about breastfeeding 101 and here is the scoop. Jeremy did remarkable well, except when they showed the different kinds of milk such as the colostrum, the foremilk and the hindmilk. He did NOT like the picture of the hindmilk because it was "creamy and chunky looking." Those were his exact words. He said he was not going to drink milk anymore, but he still does... skim milk looks NOTHING like hindmilk.
The women practiced different holding techniques while breastfeeding, I prefer the football hold right now the best, and the men practiced burping the baby and helping us position ourselves. It's a little awkward feeding a baby when you are 8 months pregnant due to the fact that my stomach takes up a majority of the room, but I think I can manage!
We each got a pamphlet on being parents. I think this is the most precious part of the guys pamphlet...
Games to Play with Baby:
Find a sports event on TV. Sit in a comfortable chair. Place baby on your chest with his head on your shoulder. Be sure its head is straight, not turned to one side, and his arms are close to it's body. Snuggle. Tell him about the game. This helps baby lift his head and keep it centered, helping with balance and good body alignment.
I am pretty sure the pamphlet is encouraging guys to watch sports! That was all Jeremy needed to hear, he is totally sold of the idea of baby bonding time!
I wanted to share a few more of the pictures my friend Leah did of my pregnancy and then of Jenn and I. Jenn is my BFF and we are sharing such a special time together, we are both pregnant together, about 4 weeks apart. I think that it is so neat that we can compare how we are feeling and what our babies are doing. I can't wait for them to grow up to be BFF's also!

Here are some pictures of my Harrison family baby shower thrown by Danielle and Aunt Pat. I want to say thank you so much to them for having this for me!!
